WAAAG Covid-19 Guidelines

Hi everyone. At WAAAG, our focus is always on the health and safety of our animals, our volunteers and supporters. We believe that we can assist in minimizing the spread of COVID 19 in our community by being diligent and vigilant. Below are actions that WAAAG will be taking in response to COVID 19:

  • All upcoming participation in public adoption and fundraising events are canceled. We will continue to publicize our adoptable animals and hold online fundraisers through our social media accounts.

  • Follow CDC guidelines for cleaning/disinfecting cabins regularly.

  • Request that volunteers remain home if they feel any symptoms of the virus.

  • Ensure we have an adequate amount of supplies on hand (dog and cat food, treats, cat litter, cleaning supplies, etc). Please go to our Amazon Wish list to see how you can help.

We will reassess and take further actions if needed as the coming days and weeks unfold. We know that these can be difficult times, particularly to the small businesses in our community and our thoughts and prayers are with them. Thank you everyone for your continued support.

We Could Use Your Help.

Our Current Needs Include:

  • Replace two exterior walls of our main cabin that houses our animals. One of our dogs, who was dealing with anxiety, chewed through the walls and caused a large amount of damage.
    (Estimated cost - $1500)

  • Paint and stain both of our dog log cabins, last time this was done was 10 years ago
    (Estimated cost - $800)

  • Small storage shed for our generator, cords, and tools. We lose power a lot & need the generator for the AC and heat for our animals. We want to protect these items from the elements and make it easier for Angie to get everything going in the middle of the night during the winter.
    (Estimated cost - $1100)

  • Four Outdoor benches for potential adopters during their “meet & greet” time and our amazing volunteers when they are spending time with the animals.
    (Estimated cost - $500)

Our ongoing needs include:

  • spaying/neutering animals

  • vet well visits, sick visits, shots/vaccines, medication

  • food and treats

  • collars, leashes, toys, and other miscellaneous items for our cats and dogs

We help all types of dogs and cats to find safe and loving homes and when necessary, offer end of life care for those animals that are not healthy or adoptable. We are a small rescue which allows us to focus on the quality of life for all our animals and not the quantity of adoptions we process per year.
